Amber Brooks

Coach Amber Brooks is from Alvin, Texas. Amber has been playing volleyball since she was 8 years old when she played on a 12 and under team for South Shore Juniors. During her years participating in club volleyball, she made several appearances at Junior Open Nationals, placing 5th in her 18’s club season. Amber attended Alvin High School where she started as a freshman setter on Varsity and received many accolades during her 4 years there. She was a four-time First Team All-District selection, 2004 Newcomer of the Year, 2005 Offensive Player of the Year, Academic All-District selection, and two-time team captain. She was also a member of the Alvin High School softball team which won the UIL State Championship in 2008. As a 4 year collegiate player, Amber played for the University of Houston, in her 4th collegiate season she transferred and led the University of Texas-Brownsville to its 1st NAIA National Championship in 2011 behind a 32-2 overall record. The Scorpions finished first in the Red River Athletic Conference with a perfect 9-0 mark. Individually, she led the nation in aces and took home all-conference first team honors, and was tabbed as the league's setter of the year. Following her collegiate volleyball career, Amber returned home to Houston to earn her Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology with a minor in Health and Nutrition from the University of Houston in 2013. Amber went on to Assist at the University of Nevada Las Vegas for a year before accepting her 1st head coaching job for Legacy High School. In 2020, Amber returned to her hometown to teach and coach for Alvin ISD. She has been in education since 2015.
